Where’s Everyone Going on the Journey I Keep Hearing About?

Where’s Everyone Going on the Journey I Keep Hearing About?

What’s the story with everyone talking about their “journey”? As in health journey.

In reality, there’s no actual destination, no “there”.

When you’re on a journey, particularly of the health variety, it can feel like an epic, never-ending process.

My own health and wellness journey began in 2012. Looking back, it seems like a very long time ago.

After many years spent serving in my community, although I was able to support others’ needs, I had started to neglect my own. I allowed years of stress, poor eating habits, and lack of consistent exercise lead to digestive discomfort, food sensitivities, skin irritations, headaches, back pain and work-life imbalance.

I understand how frustrating and confusing health challenges can be. I know how struggles with health, body and stress can impact so many other areas of your life.

On my own journey to whole health, I needed a holistic approach, one that included nutrition, movement, stress management, and community. My path was not just about losing weight, but healing in order to feel optimal energy, balance, and wellbeing.

This didn’t happen overnight. It took several years of experimenting with what worked for my body, needs, and lifestyle. While the functional medicine doctors, coaches, and all manner of other healing and helping professionals were a vital aspect of my journey, when I stopped outsourcing my health, everything changed.

It was the combination of my own coaching, professional development, and trusting my body and its infinite wisdom, that was the key. I learned about holistic health, integrative nutrition, ancient healing traditions, mind-body integration, and the power of mindfulness.

But to truly heal, I had to find my own rhythm, and a lifestyle I could sustain.

Through my experiences with whole-food nutrition, physical activity, detoxification, and mindfulness, I have overcome chronic digestive issues, cravings, skin issues, weight loss resistance and joint pain. I now have a balanced pattern of eating that is aligned with my body’s needs, a regular fitness routine that gives me energy and reduces stress, improved work-life balance, as well as daily meditation and mindfulness practices.

What has made the most significant difference are the day-to-day routines, mindset shifts and lifestyle habits I have implemented and integrated into my life.

These serve to ground and center my spirit and support me to manage a busy schedule, keep me connected, and allow for stillness and contentment in a fast-paced world.

Making incremental changes over time led to powerful improvements in my health, as well as relationships, mood, weight, and restored my sense of optimism and vitality.

And now I am grateful to have the opportunity to guide and support you in living your healthiest life and reaching your goals and dreams.

Throughout my career, I have had an orientation around client-centered service and care. Now, more than ever as an integrative health and wellness coach, I am driven by profound curiosity, interest, and awe in the human experience. I believe that when we can access our best selves, the possibilities are limitless – for ourselves, our loved ones and our community. I have honed my skills in the art and science of listening – to my body and its messages – as well as to you and your innate wisdom, and the world around us in need of healing. What does that have to do with health? Everything.
